Itinerary!

We are so excited! Today we got our official itinerary for our trip. I've posted it on the side, but here is a more detailed version.
June 26 - We'll leave Lexington at 11:15 am and fly to Detroit. We leave Detroit at 2:25 pm and fly to Tokyo (almost 14 hours) and then will fly from Tokyo to Beijing. China is 12 hours different than us so it will be 9:35 am on the 27th here when we land.

June 27 - We'll land at 9:35 pm and go to the hotel which looks AWESOME and crash!

June 28 - 7:30 am (bright & early!) Visit Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City and the Great Wall! This will be fun.

June 29 - 5:00 am - wake up call, 7:10 am - fly to Datong! This is very exciting. Normally, adoptive parents just fly into Taiyuan and get their child at the civil affairs office. We get to fly into the city where he lives and tour it, and see where Silas was abandoned. This will be very special.

June 30 - GOTCHA DAY! We will visit the orphanage! I'm not sure when we actually get Silas, but sometime today! Then we will take a bus to Taiyuan ( 3-4 hour bus ride).

July 1 - Happy Birthday Madelyn! We love you! Silas' official adoption day. We will visit civil affairs office and take care of registration and notary items. I think it is really cool that his official adoption day is on Madelyn's birthday!

July 2 - Visit Jin Shrine - I need to research what this is.

July 3 - Visit Pingyao ancient city. I have read about this on other people's blogs and it looks really neat.

July 4 - Happy 4th of July! Fly to Guanghzou - 2:45 - 5:05. Check in to hotel.

July 5 - Silas' visa photo and medical exam.

July 6 - Church service

July 7 - Consulate appointment. We do not actually attend - our guide goes for us and we stay in the room so they can call with any questions. Traditional red couch photo in afternoon.

July 8 - Oath Ceremony at US Consulate

July 9 - Leave Guanghzou at 8:20 am! Arrive in Lexington at 10:35 pm!
