Two Months!

Silas has been in our arms for two months now (as of Friday). In some ways it seems as if he just joined our family, but in other ways it seems as though he has been with us much longer. So much has happened and changed in the past two months and I am starting to see glimpses of what things will be like in the future when he has fully attached and relaxed into our family. We are definitely still in the attaching phase and have a ways to go. Some days are better than others and he really likes Mommy to be holding him and giving him 110% of her attention at all times. We're working on this and day by day it's getting better.

He is really a sweet boy. He loves to laugh and giggle and has a really good sense of humor. He likes to play with his sisters and loves to eat! He really likes to play outside and loves riding toys. He has learned to swing on a big swing and laughs and laughs while he is swinging. He likes to read books now and also sings when we have music on. He always joins us in our prayers before dinner and lunch and jabbers along with us while we are praying. He has a look of joy on his face when he knows what to do and is following along like the rest of us. It is so cute! He has several words: momma, da-da, uh-oh, bye, more, thank you and Silas. We are also doing sign language and he knows please, more, help, drink, eat, thank you and can wave bye.

Next week he is starting speech therapy and also developmental intervention. The second is a therapy that will just help him fit into our family better by working on social skills such as turn taking, sharing etc. I'm excited to get these started. We have been so blessed by having Silas in our family and I know that each week will bring more "normalcy" to our home. We thank God for placing adoption on our hearts and for our faith to follow through. We cannot imagine our family without Silas! We love you Silas!

Two months - can you believe it?! How old is Silas now? We still don't have fully comprehensible words going here, though she says "ma ma ma ma" and she's 15 1/2 months. I'm not too worried, but I guess we're a little behind. Sounds like Silas is doing really great!

I love the picture of Silas and Jason. It was so nice to finally get to meet Silas in person. He is so cute. Congrats on the 2 month mark. It will only get better from here.
