Silas' Turn

Silas with Ms. Jo

Silas with Ms. Mollie

Silas finished his first year of preschool last week. The pictures above (where he needs a major haircut) are with his teachers. What a blessing his school has been! His teachers are very firm, but very loving. The hold Silas to a high standard of behavior and require him to follow directions. There were nine kids in Silas' class. I think all but one of the kids used hearing aids of some sort. The entire class is language based and Silas was pulled out twice a week for individual speech and once a week for OT, which we started at the end of the year. I am really excited for Silas to go back next year. He made so much progress with his speech as well as learning all of his colors, counting, lots of songs, and how to make friends. Silas is now home full time for the summer. Goodness he has LOTS of energy! No lazy summer days around here!

Now for his surgery update! It is exactly a week away. This time next week we will be driving to the surgery center. Silas now knows we are going to CA and that he is getting a new ear. We have been able to talk about going somewhere and coming home. He finally understood. He went though every family member. Mommy go to CA and come home to "Tucky"? Daddy go to CA and come home... Then I started talking about him getting a new ear. He is excited. The other morning when he woke up the first thing he said was "I get new ear!" It was so cute.

I told you God would provide for us this year. We have several more praises!
  • Two of my youth group counselors from middle school and high school go to church with my sister. They paid for our rental car while we are in CA. Thanks Shannon's, what a blessing you are!
  • A doctor Jason calls on gave us a $75 gift certificate to one of the nicest restaurants in LA. We are hoping to have a date while my sister is with us the first weekend.
  • My parents not only bought my sister's plane ticket to come out with us, but also gave us some additional money for our trip. Thank you!
We finally heard back from the office and paid our deposit yesterday. We won't know cost until after the surgery when the insurance reviews the surgery notes...

Well, the tornado (Silas) is up! Off to start our non-stop day. : )
