Happy Birthday Madelyn!

My Madelyn turned 7 on July 1! I'm late posting this, but had to document her big day! She had been anticipating her birthday for a long time. We had planned a "small" party with a few friends. It ended up being a little bigger since a few sisters ended up staying as well and all of her friends were able to come!

We had a pretend sleepover. The girls wore their PJ's and brought their sleeping bags and pillows. We had pizza, veggies and dip, homemade strawberry cake, ice cream and popcorn. The girls ate and ate! We decorated frames with paint (bad idea...) and watched "The Parent Trap". Madelyn had fun seeing her friends and really enjoyed celebrating her big day!
The best part was they all went home at 9:00 instead of giggling all night long!

That weekend we got together with family to celebrate.
I didn't have time to make another cake, so Madelyn got a special bakery cake! So pretty and really yummy.

Madelyn,
Wow! You are seven! Where has the time gone? It seems just yesterday you were a tiny baby who needed me for everything. Now you are growing into a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. Daddy and I are so proud of you and enjoy watching you grow. This year you have worked hard. Your reading is really improving and you made your first best friend, Claudia. You can be a really good helper to me and you LOVE playing with your sister. The two of you are the best of friends. You still love ballet and are becoming a really good piano player! It is so fun to watch you perform and have fun. You just started OT to help you with your handwriting and to also help you gain a little more strength. Unfortunately, you take after me - a lot! You are messy but like to organize, like to daydream but want to have a plan, and love to create but hate to clean up. You like to help me cook and work in the yard. You also are becoming a really good swimmer this summer. We are also finally painting your room - PINK! You have wanted it pink since you were two! I kept saying, when you are seven... (it seemed like a good number!). Well, now you are seven and the walls are going from periwinkle to pink. Thank you for being the best Madelyn in the whole world! I am so, so glad God picked me to be your mommy. I love you!
Love,
Mom
